About Claudia Carawan

The Musician

Claudia Carawan is a riveting performer and recording artist who creates heartfelt music. In performance Carawan is a powerful vocalist who moves with ease through many genres (soul, posi, jazz and pop). Her music is best described as vibrant, transformative and positively soulful.

She has independently released five recordings: Magic in the Air, Joy Rising, Fearless, Out of the Blue and Unfinished Business (with Ellersoul Records).  At the heart of Carawan’s music and mission as an artist is a belief that music is transformative. Carawan has won multiple nominations and awards for her original positive music.

Claudia Carawan performs as a solo act and with a variety of groups.  She is currently associated with NightVision, the Claudia Carawan Ensemble and Li’l Ronnie & the BlueBeats.

Inspirational Speaker

Carawan was so inspired after hearing Maya Angelou speak that she began creating Music Lessons (presentations that integrate story-telling, music and humor). As a speaker Carawan weaves her messages and music together seamlessly into presentations for conferences, retreats, churches and professional organizations.

Lessons

Offering private lessons and coaching on the art of singing, Carawan strives to focus on each student’s individual goals.  Her pedagogical approach is intuitive, and effective at helping each student sing with freedom and joy.

Workshops & Women’s Retreats

The Fearless, Fun & Freedom Women’s Retreat is a yearly event facilitated by Claudia Carawan and Jana Stanfield at Serenity Farm in Maidens, Virginia.  This retreat experience is a magical weekend of music, friendship and transformation.  Carawan also conducts a variety of informative and interactive workshops on creativity and music.   For more info please see Workshops.
